Catcher for the Los Angeles Angels

Jeff Mathis and the Angels did not make it to the 2009 World Series, losing in six games to the New York Yankees. However, Mathis had an outstanding American League Championship Series, going 7-for-12 (.583) with two runs scored, five doubles and an RBI. Mathis was the hero in game three as he drove in the winning run with an RBI double in the bottom of the 11th inning.
