I'm making every effort to improve my Open Championship record.I caught St. George's on two very nice days with not too much wind.My build-up to Sandwich next week has included playing Royal St. George’s last Thursday and Friday. Then I went on to Prince’s, Rye and Royal Cinque Ports. It was good preparation.I had a few friends with me so I could make it a little competitive. Mizuno Irons Take Home Three "Player's Choice" Awards from Golfing Magazine

The latest edition of Golfing Magazine includes their annual irons review, in which all four irons from Mizuno's current lineup were very well received. In fact, three of our irons - JPX-800 Pro, MP-63, and MP-53 - all received 2011 "Player's Choice" Awards from the publication. Golfing Magazine ranked all the irons based upon appearance, forgiveness, feel, consistency, and distance.

It appears as though we achieved our goal of getting our players dialed in for this years US Open. Both Luke and Jonathan were confident in the setup of their equipment for this week's grueling test of golf skill and nerves. We also had a former staff player stop by the van to look at the new MP 63's. It looks like we'll be busy in Hartford, at The Travelers, getting these new irons to the player's exact specifications so he'll hopefully be ready to pop them right in the bag.

The tour trailer got right to work this morning at the US Open as Luke Donald's caddie, Johnny McLaren, stopped by to get his bosses entire set of clubs re-gripped. Luke usually gets fresh grips put on his gamers before most big tournaments as was the case earlier in the year at the Player's Championship. No. 1 has just begun.
Luke Donald reached the summit of the world ranking with an incredible 10 top-10 finishes in his last 10 starts, including two wins. Now that he's on top, says Helen Ross, the affable Englishman has many other goals to accomplish.
