The loss of my father came at what was supposed to be a time of great joy for Diane and I. My dad died at the birth of our second daughter, so that produced a wide range of emotions. Going into the week,I knew if I’d won the Tour Championship, the Fedex Cup was mine - one of my big goals for this season. I played well the first day, got myself into a great position but just struggled a little from there on. I didn’t really take my best game to Friday, Saturday and Sunday.I did a good job of keeping myself in with a chance come the end. I'm making every effort to improve my Open Championship record.I caught St. George's on two very nice days with not too much wind.My build-up to Sandwich next week has included playing Royal St. George’s last Thursday and Friday. The second major of the season looms and I’m delighted to be in great form coming into the US Open.I do know a little about the Congressional course. I played there a couple of times in US Open qualifying back in 2002 when I wasn’t exempt. I got through there and that might bode well for me.
