Stacy Lewis to represent United States in the Solheim Cup
by Iver Maple on September 1, 2011
JPX-800 player Stacy Lewis has capped her amazing 2011 season by qualifying for the U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
The Solheim Cup takes place Sept. 23-25, at Killeen Castle in Ireland and this is Stacy’s first appearance in the event.
Lewis turned professional after graduating with a degree in finance from Arkansas in 2008, and won qualifying school earning her LPGA Tour card in her first attempt.
Lewis played two full seasons before notching her first Tour (and MAJOR) win in 2011, coming from behind to defeat the No. 1 player in the world and win the Kraft Nabsico title. Lewis has had a tremendous 2011 and last week posted the lowest final day score of 67 in the Canadian Open, falling only one stroke short in a T-2 effort.
We wish Stacy the best of luck in Ireland!
