Mizuno Japan recently announced an official equipment contract with Jiyai Shin of Korea – currently 2nd on the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings.
Shin broke all existing KLPGA records in 2007, winning 10 events in 19 starts. In 2008 she won the Women's British Open and the ADT Championship, and by 2009 was the LPGA’s leading money winner. Shin was ranked #1 in the Women's World Golf Rankings during 2010 – winning the Mizuno Classic along the way.
Shin has played Mizuno equipment without contract since March 2010 and will continue with her current set up – MP Craft Driver, MP Titanium fairway woods, MP CLK hybrid, MP-53 irons and MP T-11 wedges. The deal includes a Mizuno logo on the side of her headwear. Shin will also be active in Mizuno’s golf club development.
Shin commented: “I am excited to have signed a contract with Mizuno. The excellence of Mizuno clubs, and their service on tour helped me to embrace this agreement. The fact that I can rely greatly on them means a lot.”
