It's been a rough month for me. The hip pain which has plagued me all year never fully went away and just when I started to get back into it and increase my mileage, it returned with unwavering vengeance. Coming back from running injuries, is often a very long, difficult road. For the past year, I have been dealing with a series of injuries. Finally, I felt fit enough to target the New Haven 20-K on September 1 as my first real test. September 4, Kauai Hawaii - In a tune up run for the Chicago Marathon in October, Mizuno's Tyler McCandless had a goal to win the Kauai Marathon in a time faster than the course record of 2:30. Any male runners accomplishing the sub 2:30 time challenge would split the $15,000 time bonus. Tyler's winning time was 2:23.19 and the only other sub 2:30 was last year's winner Michael Wardian in 2:26.19
