Tyler McCandless Wins The Kauai Marathon, Sets Course Record

September 4, Kauai Hawaii - In a tune up run for the Chicago Marathon in October, Mizuno's Tyler McCandless had a goal to win the Kauai Marathon in a time faster than the course record of 2:30. Any male runners accomplishing the sub 2:30 time challenge would split the $15,000 time bonus. Tyler's winning time was 2:23.19 and the only other sub 2:30 was last year's winner Michael Wardian in 2:26.19

September 5, New Haven, CT, Mizuno Racing Team Member, Clara Grandt, continued her consistent successful string of summer races as she placed 2nd in the US National 20K (12.4 miles) Championships in a time of 1:09:05 (5:34 per mile pace). Fighting warm and muggy conditions, Clara was 24 seconds behind Janet Cherobon-Bawcom of Rome, GA. August 14, Falmouth, MA - Four Mizuno Athletes completed in the prestigious Falmouth Road Race. In the women's division, Clara Grandt, finished 10th (8th American) in a time of 38.18 which was over a minute faster than her time at Bix 7 two weeks earlier. Next for Mizuno was Megan Armstrong in 13th with a time of 38:25. Rounding out the Mizuno Women was Heidi Westover, in 27th place in 40:40. For the men, Luke Watson, placed 35 in 34.55.
