Grain Flow Forged 1025 Boron

Grained Flow Forged 1025 Boron construction gives the ultimate in players feel
The greatest achievement of the EZ Forged from an engineering standpoint wasn't the ball speed or forgiveness, for us it was the feel. It's so hard to push so many design parameters to the max, yet retain the Mizuno iconic feel. It's incredible how many design opportunities presented themselves once we switched to the 1025 Boron material. " -David Llewellyn, Golf R&D Director

Design Details

The JPX-EZ Forged iron provides increased distance and forgiveness, all because of the 30% stronger 1025 Boron material and the amplified Power Frame design. The JPX-EZ Forged irons deliver a thinner face for amazing distance, while allowing the weight savings to be distributed out to the four corners resulting in maximum forgiveness.

The wide sole design helps to lower the sweet spot to deliver effortless flight. Moreover, the Triple Cut sole helps the player cleanly strike the ball from all types of lies. All of these advancements were achieved without sacrificing the elite feel sensation that you only get from a Grain Flow Forged Mizuno iron.

Tech Specs

  • Grain Flow Forged 1025 Boron:30% stronger material for added distance and a soft, solid, consistent feel.
  • POWER FRAME™ Forgiveness:Weight is strategically placed in the four corners of the cavity to maximize forgiveness.
  • Triple Cut Sole:The JPX-EZ Forged can enter and exit the turf for playability in all types of lies due to the softly beveled leading edge and hard cut trailing edge.
  • Black Ni finish:An anti-glare finish for a sleek bold look.

Great Feel!
Switched from Ping G20 to these. Fitted with xp115 stiff shaft. Played my first round in 20-30mph wind and the ball flight was piercing. Wouldn't normally go out and play in that wind, but I couldn't wait. The feel is incredible, combined with superb turf interaction. Picked up the S5 wedges in blue to go along with the irons. Set looks amazing together!

Great irons!
These irons are amazing. I previously used Callaways with graphite shafts and was spraying the ball all over the course. I could not hit a green on the par 3s on my course and my handicap was 17+. In the past five rounds my cap has come down to a 14 and was able to shoot even par on the back nine of my course today. The course I play is ~6400 yards with a course rating of 70.9/131. The forged design with the boron definitely hit longer than my previous irons and they fly very straight. These irons have consistently bettered my scores by 6-10 shots per round. I feel very confident standing over the ball with these irons in my hand now. I cannot recommend them enough!

all I can say is WOW
I've only had these clubs for a few weeks. I really can't believe that they are a full club longer and I'm hitting them so much more consistently than my Callaway's. I don't hit them as high but it's more of a piercing flight. But the ball still hits soft and stops. Great set of clubs well worth the investment !!

JPX EZ Forged "everything I was looking for".
I have played Mizuno MP30 irons for 13 years. I am older now and needed irons that were just a little more forgiving but loved the soft feel and wanted to keep that. I decided to play with the JPX EZ Forged irons and LOVE them. They are not as soft feeling as my old irons but the forgiveness is there. The ball stays on the face slightly longer than a cast club and the feel is very close to the MP irons. The JPX EZ Forged is everything I was looking for. Mitch M

Excellent irons for a casual golfer with a 16 hcp
I have been searching for a foriving yet workable iron for the last 4 years...went thru 4 brands and 6 sets of irons before I got to the 2013 JPX EZ cast model...loved the forgiveness in those but the workability was just not where I wanted...tried another company's mb's and they lasted all if 5 rounds before I tried out these babies...all I can say is wow...4th round on a course that I had never played I bested all 3 of my playing partners for the 1st time all year...it was my lowest round in 15 years...looking forward to seeing just how low I can go and my confidence at address has never been better...

Great Clubs for those who like Forged Irons
I bought these to replace a set of Mizuno MX 200's that I bought in 2008. Want to stay with the Forged feel. However, I think the boron makes the feel a littel stiffer feel off the head not quite as soft as my MX-200 irons. I got more feed back with the old irons. These are still good golf clubs.

What are the main differences between the 850 Forged and the JPX EZ forged. On paper, they seem to have the same features of material, cnc machining, weight distribution on club head , etc....
G man on Sep 22, 2015

I am currently a 17 handicap and was wondering if the JPX-EZ Forged irons would be too much club for me? Would I be able to continue to grow my game with them?
eff_chase on Dec 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The handicap spectrum we placed on the JPX-EZ forged is 8-18, so you are right on the border. We would recommend either the JPX-EZ forged, or the JPX-850's, which have a handicap spectrum of 10-25. You should be able to grow your game with either of these options.
Hi! Muy actual handicap is 14 and i never played with a forged irons. Do you think forged irons are for me?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Forged irons are typically more attractive to the single digit handicap but that is not always the case. The perception tends to be that forged clubs are only for better players and cast clubs for higher handicappers. We recommend not to get caught up in how the golf club was made, but focus more on how it was designed. With the JPX EZ Forged iron, the heel to toe distance is larger than other Forged models and the weight is distributed towards the bottom and parameters but is less forgiving than the JPX EZ cast. For your handicap, and the amount of forgiveness this iron provides I believe it would be a great choice.

Are the new EZ Forged irons more forgiving than the older version? Also, does it have a larger sweet spot than the older version? Thank you.

Is the new EZ forged irons more forgiving than the older version? Also, does it have a larger sweet spot than the older version? Thank you.
PJPJ on Sep 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The ez have a thicker top line and a slightly longer blade length which should give players a little more confidence at address. They are easier to hit and do have a bigger sweet spot.

Hello again, I currently play an older Mizuno set of irons(MX-300) that I find difficult to contact consistently in the sweet spot as I get older. I also have the Mizuno MP Fli-Hi long irons 2,3,& 4 which strangely enough if you will I find fairly easy to hit perhaps due to their larger blade length/sole width, MOI etc. Just one question from this engineer; Would the new Mizuno EZ Forged irons offer similar geometry & performance characteristics to the prior MP Fli-Hi long irons in regard to 2,3 & 4 irons? With you resolving this question, I may have found the clubs that will satisfy myself as I age since I don't change clubs often.

Thank you....Mark...mech engr...Handicap-15 & lets not talk about the tolerance
mark h on May 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the technology and performance is similar, but overall the JPX-EZ forged will over a good bit of forgiveness throughout the entire set, while also allowing for a little bit of work ability.

I have mx15's and looking to got to the jpx ez forged , how much of a difference is there with these 2?
Andrew W on Jan 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Overall, the JPX-EZ forged is going to be a similar model compared to your MX-15's. The main difference is going to be the upgraded technology, cosmetics, and forgiveness. The overall play and feel of the JPX-EZ forged will be better then your current MX-15's.
